CBD Electrical installed new power pedestals along the marina at Hopetoun, providing shore power connections for vessels berthed at the wharf. Each pedestal was fitted with metered power outlets and RCD protection, designed to handle the marine environment and the demands of vessels requiring reliable shore supply.
The work involved trenching and conduit installation along the wharf, pedestal mounting and positioning at each berth, and running new submains back to the marina's distribution board. The waterfront location required all equipment and cabling to be rated for the marine environment, with corrosion-resistant fittings and weatherproof enclosures throughout.
All pedestals were tested and commissioned individually before handover, with metering verified and documentation provided to the marina operator.

We started with the layout of the marina berths and planned pedestal positions to give each vessel a dedicated, accessible power connection. Conduit was trenched along the wharf and submains were run back to the main distribution board.
Each pedestal was mounted, wired, and fitted with metered outlets and RCD protection. All components were selected for the marine environment to handle salt air, water exposure, and the general wear of a working marina. The installation was tested and commissioned berth by berth, with the marina operator walked through the metering and access for each connection.
