CBD Electrical was called to the Woolworths Metro East and East Sydney Private Hospital building in Woolloomooloo after a section of the main switchboard failed. Our team arrived on site, assisted with the building evacuation, and began work immediately.
The switchboard was rebuilt with new equipment and with new fire-rated consumer mains cabling. Aggreko generators were craned into position outside the loading dock and connected through protected cable runs to provide temporary power while the permanent supply was offline.
The project ran around the clock for 6 days. Throughout the entire period, the Woolworths Metro stayed open, residential apartments kept power, and the hospital and medical clinics remained operational.

We arrived on site within hours of the call, assessed the switchboard damage, and had Aggreko generators positioned and connected the same day. Once temporary power was stable across all tenancies, we started the rebuild.
The team worked in shifts around the clock for 6 days. Each section of the switchboard was stripped, rebuilt, and tested individually before the final cutover from generators back to permanent mains. Power quality was verified using a Fluke analyser to confirm load balance and supply quality across every tenancy before sign-off.
